2019-20 Summer Training and Tryout Information

INCOMING FRESHMEN & RETURNING PLAYERS:
Summer Training and Tryouts will begin in July. Contact Coach Aguailar via email to confirm your commitment to tryouts. If you are an incoming freshman, you can contact Coach Aguailar after May 1st.

Summer training and tryouts for ALL levels will take place at 1:15 pm on July 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18 in the bowl behind the OHS stadium. The summer training is important in development and evaluation of who fits into our team concepts for the upcoming year, as well as developing players. ALL 9TH, 10TH, 11TH, AND 12TH GRADERS must attend summer training. This will be your tryout! Everyone should see the requirements below about athletic clearance and physicals.

One additional tryout for the 2019-20 season will only occur during the second week of school, ONLY FOR FRESHMEN who missed summer training. There is a tryout meeting on Thursday, August 29, 2019 in room E112 at lunch. If you do not attend this meeting or contact the coach the first week of school you will not be considered for this year's teams.

There will be tryouts for a frosh/soph team, junior varsity team, and varsity team. Only 55 players (max) will be chosen to participate as part of the soccer program for 2019-20. Teams will be created at a later date.

ATHLETIC CLEARANCE:
In order to tryout, EVERY player must be cleared. The clearance must be started by creating a log-in at www.athleticclearance.com and completing the forms. Part of the clearance includes the student getting a physical completed by a doctor. This should be done in the summer. Also, you need to have an updated physical in order to participate in summer training. You can pick up the physical forms from the front desk at OHS or the Athletic Secretary, Paula Escamilla. You can also print them from the links on this website (above). The completed physical form must be uploaded to www.athleticclearance.com. It can also be turned in the first day of tryouts, to the coach.

STUDENTS IN A FALL SPORT:
Students participating in Fall sports must communicate with the coach. Attending the summer training will be your chance to try out for the team; there will not be any additional tryouts for returning students.
